Awards

Allen Kong Architect projects have received many awards including from state and local government, Australian Institute of Architects, National Housing Industry Association and Master Builders Australia.

In addition, the projects have received three United Nations World Habitat Awards for environmentally, economically sustainable and innovative social housing. AKA projects were awarded as finalist in 1994 and 2012, and winner in 1998 (The first time it was awarded to an Australian Project and the first time internationally to a project for the elderly.) As a testament to their understanding and commitment to social housing.
In 2011 when Wintringham ( project partners) received the United Nations Scroll of Honour for Human Settlements the most prestigious world wide award for Human settlements it was the first time awarded to an Australian Project and the first time internationally to a project for the elderly.
